speck-tacular

June 11, 2008

Paul graduated from his EMT program yesterday! Woop woop! I’m so proud of him for finally doing the program in the first place (he always kept going back to wanting to try EMT/Paramedic) and following through until the end. He got pinned and everything. Friday he takes the National Registry for EMTs which is supposed to be killer but I think he’ll do fine. Both of us have big career tests this weekend. His National Registry and the GACE Science assessment for me.

Speaking of that silly test, I am sooooo not in study mode today. I tried, but got distracted. Cleaned the kitchen, organized and purged ALL of my computer files and pictures, tried to study again and now I’m surfing the WWW.

Paul finally got his own computer yesterday! And a Macbook at that. :] (I love my Mac so much I think I’m becoming one of those annoying “Mac is my religion” people.) He was going to just go for a PC, thinking it would be cheaper, but once all of the peripheral things he needed added up, it was going to be way more expensive, even though the computer itself was hundreds of dollars cheaper. Plus, the one he was looking at runs Vista, which is apparently not compatible with a whole lot of things that he would have needed. And for the Macbook I already own Office for Mac and a key to iWork. And that is how he was converted. ;] He’s never had his own computer and is taking some online courses this summer while he works, so he needed to get a laptop of his own to take with him to work so he can get things done during his down time. So, that’s pretty fun for him to finally have one of his own. I’m a little jealous that he has Leopard (it’s pretty awesome, I must say) and I still haven’t upgraded from Tiger, but I’ll live. And, because he’s not a big fan of the white, I went out to the PeachMac store on Epps Bridge to get a Speck shell for his and for mine since I never did do that when I got mine last summer. I got blue for him and purple for me (which just came out, so I’m glad I waited). They are Speck-tacular! And I am lame. (I spent a whole paragraph talking about Paul’s new computer. I need a life.)

Okay, I’m going to try to study again… wish me luck. After Saturday I am f-r-e-e.
